Long time since I posted here. So who's been listening to Stay In Touch With Val Emmich podcasts? If you have, hope you're enjoying. If you haven't, you should. Had an awesome time last night at Maxwells. Things that I didn't expect, for instance how Val called out for me and asked if I wanted to say something to the crowd HAHA. And then how he said something to me in my ear in the middle of Only One Lonely. Anyway here's the setlist:

Also, did everyone catch the trailer for his film, Fighting Fish? It's been accepted to the Nashville Film Festival in April 15 - 22. So expect the film to release publicly after that. Annette, the director of the film, had some nice words for me on ValEmmichFans.com. You can find all this info at the site.
One more thing, Val will be posting short stories that he's been writing. Stayed tuned.

I hope everyone received Val's newsletter he sent out this morning. Val and I have been brainstorming this. He said he wanted to make the Maxwells show in Feb special, for people who are attending and even for those who can't. He is taking requests for songs to play. And for those that can't make it, your vote counts too! He is working on trying to record some songs live. So everyone's requests counts! Fill out the form here.
Oh yea, and if you are attending come say hi to me. I'm usually the only asian girl at concerts.

Anyone going to the show at Maxwells on the 27th? Still debating to go or not.
I feel like I am writing to myself in here but I know you're out there reading. You're a bunch of quiet fans. That's okay, I am here haha.
Anyway, brief run down in case you are not a regular visitor of valemmichfans.com and/or don't follow the site on twitter.
Speaking of twitter, the omgfacts has been a challenge for me and I've run out on them. But I might throw them in at random times. #quotes is up next.
Fighting Fish film still has an unreleased date, but the good news is there's now a group in Facebook for the film. Check it out, there are photos of production stills and behind the scenes. There are a few people asking about SXSW this year. It's unconfirmed that Val is scheduled to play. He contacted me a few weeks ago in regards to shows, but hasn't mentioned anything about SXSW.
There's a new video interview of Val for the Independent Music Awards. Origivation magazine did a feature on the past winners for the IMAs. Val was quoted in the magazine along with a tasty photoshoot. Below is a picture from the photoshoot. Check it out all here.

Here's my attempt at resuscitating this place.
I was at the show last night at The Canal Room. Val ended the evening with a real smash. Anyone who was there knows what I'm talking about. I'll only mention the music because this is what matters and VE definitely gave one hell of a performance despite his mood.
I thought of writing the setlist but since they played 5 new songs(plus Eastern Standard Time which is semi-new and I hope to be on the new record) I didn't know the titles so I asked Rob for the setlist.
Val's band:

Rob Fitzgerald – bass
Ron Haney – guitar (he really brings a good amount of sound to the table or stage)
Wayne Dorell – keys/guitar

Saw Val the other night at Mexicali Blues in NJ (my user pic is from the show). Another terrific performance. Just wondering if anyone has any live recordings of any of his shows? I've been searching for some but haven't had any luck...thanks!

If I put the Sunlight Searchparty in my car stereo, it plays the intermission as part of track 9. If I play the intermission on a Dell laptop with Windows Media Player, it plays it as part of track 8. Anyone experience the same thing or actually know why it'd be like that?
